What better way to celebrate the 70th birthday of champion Super Saloon 't' driver Ray Stewart than a 70 lap race on the clay of Heavy Trax Hire Central Motor Speedway. Club promoter Jason Scott believes this will be the most laps race ever held on a New Zealand Speedway.
"Super Saloons are big, grunty and exciting to watch at the best of times," says Jason. "Imagine how much more thrilling the action will be over 70 laps in a race that will include compulsory pit stops. Whatever you do don't rule out Ray showing the way around the track. The older he gets, the faster he goes. Here he is, 70, an age when too many are already under the dirt rather than racing over hit with something like 800 horses under his control."
