It was a busy weekend at Central Motor Speedway, with green sheeting of race cars, volunteer worker inductions and practice on the track all taking place over the two days.
Head scrutineer Daniel (Rolly) Rolton said all those who passed green sheeting were able to get out on the track to test how well their cars perform.
"It was great to get all the cars checked and ready for racing. There's been some changes, some modifications, some updates, and some that have stayed pretty much the same.
"It's going to be an interesting season."
Clerk of the Course Daryl Barnes conducted procedural and health and safety training for volunteer workers in the wide variety of roles. Then the practice sessions for race cars allowed everyone to have a trial run and iron out any problems before the new season roars into action. The annual CMS Burnout Competition on September 24 and CMS Bathurst weekend on October 8 are the warm-up events to the official season opener on Labour Weekend.
