Volunteering is a fun experience at CMS. You're helping to bring people to Central to support our local businesses, you're helping provide race experiences for up and coming drivers, and you're helping to put Cromwell on the map as an exciting destination.
It's an awesome experience. You get free entry to the fastest family show on earth, you get trained, you get to meet other amazing people, you get fed, looked after, and you get to have a lot of fun.
Gates: Meet and Greet the Fans
It's a full-on job when the queues stretch out to the road - but it's really rewarding. You get to meet all the happy fans as they come into the arena, check tickets and solve problems. Then, the gates close and you're free to relax and enjoy the event with friends and family.
Infield: Be Part of the Action
Infield volunteers are literally right in the centre of all the action! There are tow vehicles, water truck, push vehicles, health and safety retrieval, fire safety. These are the people who keep racing safe, respond to incidents, and make sure racing keeps going.
Poster Distributors: Get the Word Out
We have a great team of people who distribute posters to their local businesses. We need posters distributed in all areas from Canterbury to Southland, from the West Coast to the East, and everywhere in between.
Get the word out in your town.
Lap Scoring:
Get to sit in the best viewing platform at the track! You're in the hub of the excitement and you're the first to know who wins each race. Learn the new MyLaps system, and bring your amazing time management skills to the fore. Help to get the results out onto the event board - the news everyone is waiting for.
Scrutineers:
Scrutineers are the people responsible for ensuring all race vehicles have complied with the correct safety and technical standards for their class of racing before taking to the track. This is an interesting and varied job, as you get up close and personal with a wide variety of race cars.
