The South Island Sprintcar title roars into action on December 3rd. It’s our first opportunity to see this epic battle play out here in Cromwell since the 2016/17 season, when Cromwell club driver Daniel Anderson 44T won the title.

Sporting distinctive wings front and rear, sprintcars are the world’s fastest speedway cars and Cromwell drivers regularly feature on the podium. With Covid cancelling the 2021/22 event, Sam O’Callaghan 49T took second place in both 2020/21 and 2019/20, with Jayden Dodge 41T second in 2018/19. Before Daniel Anderson 44T won the title in 2016/17, Jason Scott 88T had taken the title five years in a row.

So who will take the chequered flag this season?

All our drivers are back in fighting form. Will Jason Scott reprise his role of SI champ for the 6th time? Young Adam Evans 98T has already shown stunning talent, in what is only his first sprintcar season – he is definitely one to watch. Josh Buchanan 43T is another rising star, showing his good, strong mindset and obvious talent out on the track.

Driver entries close 27th November – so if you’re keen to be among the excitement on track, click here to get your registration in.
